NBC Heads Into the Holiday Season as Fall’s #1 Network in Both the 18-49 Demo and Total Viewers

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Nov. 1, 2022 – As the holidays quickly come upon us, NBC will once again be getting into the spirit like nobody else can with its array of beloved annual specials and additional new programming that families can enjoy together.

In 2021, NBC dominated the holiday programming landscape by reaching more than 94 million viewers. Last year’s inaugural “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” from Miami, which returns Dec. 31, was a huge success, earning the title as the #1 most social entertainment special across all of TV in 2021 (excluding awards).

Viewers look forward each year to such favorite perennials as the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” and several others. New programming for 2022 includes the highly anticipated movie “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas,” starring the iconic country music legend as well as “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson and many others.

NBC heads into the holidays this season as #1 in both the 18-49 demo and total viewers. Of the top 20 programs in the demo, NBC dominates with 10, including four dramas (compared to only one from a competing network).

“NBC has long been home to the season’s most wondrous holiday events and adding Dolly’s new movie this year gives us an even greater bounty,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Live Events, Specials and E! News, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We can’t wait to share these family favorites with our viewers who count on NBC every year to bring them the best of the holiday season.”
