The Loud House Season 1: Roughin' It / The Waiting Game

The Loud House   Nickelodeon

Previously, our past post here.  Now on to episode  20.

 Episode 20 A : Roughin' It

Lincoln is feeling a lot less manly in this episode and decides to feel more manly again he has to go camping. With Clyde.   At the start of the episode there's a montage  that will come into play into the episode later. I like how they did that.  Lincoln and Clyde attempt do EXTREME (not 90's EXTREME) camping to get that manly feeling back again.  (It's like a lovin' feeling , maybe)

The fun of the episode at first, is seeing how they do this camping.   I'm taking off .5 pts for the farting too much because I'm a tough judge.  Anyway, when things go wrong in the episode , the next day, when they are floated down the river because they camped in spot they weren't supposed to have camp.    That montage at the beginning comes into play when Lincoln uses different things he learned from his sisters to help him in the woods.

There's not much I can say about what goes on in the episode, except that it is a very enjoyable episode, I like the jokes and gags it has and the message  the Lincoln learns that being with his sisters is valuable and doesn't make him less "manly"  It's a really good episode I give it 9.5/10.

       More after the Jump

Episode 20 B: The Waiting Game

There's a boy named Chandler who is somewhat popular (Don't make the Friends jokes, don't  Friends jokes)   he is having a birthday party.  Lincoln and Clyde really want to get invited to the party. Apparently, Chandler is also excessive in his presentation and he didn't invite them.  Could he be even more of a snob? ( I warned you!)   A little thing of note, I like when Clyde removes his glasses he has eyes and not dots like the stereotype for that in animation does.   Lincoln also got Lori a job at the arcade  so she can make money to buy a dress for a dance.

Lori also gives Lincoln her free employee tokens. She also gives him some free food and drinks for the job as well.  Now, let's smash that plot and the arcade together how you may ask?  I don't know let's ask Ross.  (Stop it, you!)  Chandler shows up and calls Lincoln, Larry. Lincoln decides that the best way to get Chandler to like him for the party, is through his stomach.   So, Lincoln stabs him in the oooh wait he gives Chandler the free food and tokens to appease the guy.

It seems to have to have worked, Chandler says he'll bring invites the next day.  Well episode over that was  fun (What? ohhhh)  I wonder how this could go wrong?   Lincoln has just found out his life  is  stuck in second gear. (You are just tempting me now!) Chandler decides to ask for free tokens because he is  hopeless and awkward and desperate for love. (I'm leaving this blog , it's awful now)   Lincoln lets Chandler use him for free stuff.

When he's getting ready for the party, he finds out that because of the free stuff she gave him she can't go to her dance because she has to work to make up for it.  Lincoln does something very nice and work it for her so she can get to work. It  really gives us a nice look into their relationship and shows a nicer side that I'm glad they got to.  Lincoln learned that Chandler really wasn't being his  F-R-I-E-N-D .

This is a  good episode  and I'm glad  that we had some more showing a relationship of Lori and Lincoln that was less adversarial in this case.   The writers knew how not take anything negative too far the episode walks that  line  very well staying in the more not gone bad way where  the viewer might not be happy with Lincoln.  I give it 8/10.

Tune in next time, when Larry Loud takes on credit card debt!
