CBS Sets Fall Premiere Dates 2026

CBS Fall TV Look 2026 

       CBS has set the week of October 4 to be their fall premiere week.  Back in the season upfront they announced that  Matlock , Ghosts, and  new dramedy Einstein will premiere at midseason.  Ghosts will be getting a Halloween and Christmas special on October 29 and December 10, respectively. 

        New series NCIS: New York will premiere on October , between NCIS and Origins. New Legal drama Cupertino and new comedy series Eternally Yours premiere on October 8. 

        The NFL comes in first in September and the reality shows  Survivor and The Amazing Race start in September as well.

Fall TV 2026: CBS Fall Line Up

CBS TVFall2026  Upfronts 

    CBS is usually a network where changes to their line up are minimal,  but this year there are some notable changes.  Their long running Monday night comedies , the night that was once home to shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and ,recently, The Neighborhood is going away.  With The Neighborhood and DMV being canceled, they will not be replaced with new series.  Instead, the network is moving up FBI  and CIA.  True crime series Harlen Coben's Final Twist will finish out the night.  

            Thursdays are also getting a shift.  Long-running sitcom Ghosts will be moved to mid-season, the network says the show will still  have a full 22-episode season and will have hour-long Halloween and Christmas specials. Matlock has also been pushed to mid-season.  Following the new season of Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage is a new comedy, Eternally Yours, from the show runners of  "Ghosts".  Meanwhile, following Elsbeth is a new drama from the creators of that series, Cupertino. 

            Tuesday nights continue to be "NCIS" nights with a new installment joining  the line up. NCIS: New York will air between NCIS and NCIS: Origins.  NCIS: Sydney returns in the mid-season. 

         Other consistencies will be Wednesday night for "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race"; Fridays with Sheriff Country, Fire Country, and Boston Blue.  Sundays are still 60 Minutes, Marshalls, and Tracker. 

       CBS will add in a new drama in mid-season with Einstein. In other notes for the network,  they will be simulcasting the Nickelodeon "Kids' Choice Awards" (November 14) and for the first time, "The Price is Right' gets a live special.   MTV Video Music Awards will air on the network on September 27.

        CBS has released their midseason line up. Featured in the line up is the spin-off to "FBI" , called "CIA",  A new Taylor Sheridan series a sequel to "Yellowstone"  called "Y:Marshals" , "Harlan Coben's Final Twist"  and "America's Culinary Cup". and the return of programming such as "Hollywood Squares". 

        

          CBS will also be airing "The Golden Globes" on January 11  and the network's final broadcast of "The Grammys" will air on February 1.

CBS Announces Holiday Programming

CBS   Holidays Thanksgiving  Christmas 

        CBS has released its holiday programming line up for the season of 2025.  This includes special episodes in primetime and daytime, specials,  and more.  

         "Ghosts" gets a special Thanksgiving based episode on November 20.  "Everybody Loves Raymond" celebrates its 30th anniversary with a reunion special on November 24.   

         "Paw Patrol" Christmas special will air November 28,  and Reindeer in Here will air on December 6.

CBS Sets 2025 Fall Premiere Dates

CBS  Fall TV Look 2025 

    CBS has released its fall premiere dates line up, being the first network to do so.  There's been a change from the fall line up announced in May:  CIA  will not be part of the fall line up , with it being delayed until mid-season. That means the DMV, FBI, CIA line up will have to wait.   Taking its place is Watson, which was set to premiere its second season in mid-season. 

            The official  premiere week beings  Sunday, October 12 with a special night with Matlock and Elsbeth.   

       September has event programming such as the 2025 Video Music Awards,  77th Emmy Awards, and a Grammy Salute to Earth, Wind and Fire.  "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race"  have their season premieres.    Other September programming has the return of "60 Minutes" , "48 Hours" , and the season finale of "Big Brother".

CBS Releases 2025-2026 line up

CBS  Upfront  Fall TV Look 2025

    CBS has announced its fall and spring schedule for the 2025-26 season.  

         For a network that keeps some consistency that is mostly true, but there will be some tweaks to the line up as CBS has canceled a few series.   Monday is getting a makeover as the entire 8:30-11pm part of the line up has changed.  A new comedy, DMV, will be following the veteran, and on a farewell season, comedy The Neighborhood.  FBI   moves to Monday following the two comedies.  A new spin-off series , CIA, rounds out the night. 

            FBI : Tuesdays are gone, and now it's NCIS night.  The main series moves back to a slot it once held, Tuesdays at 8/7c.  NCIS: Origins  and NCIS: Sydney round out the night. 

            Fridays lost two series in the past season, so it will have two new series.  A spin-off of Fire Country , named Sheriff Country starts the night off.  The flagship show gets the middle hour, and Blue Bloods former slot, gets its new spin off   Boston Blue. 

        Sundays  will be shorter in the fall, to allow for football over-runs  60 Minutes  leads the night , followed by a new reality based series The Road  will following.  The 10/9c hour will be focused on CBS encores. During the spring, the network fills in 9/8c  with Y: MARSHALS  (note this is working title and may change)  and the second season of Watson.

Midseason 2025 TV: CBS

CBS  Midseason  Winter TV  

            CBS has set its winter premiere dates for the winter part of the 2024-25 TV primetime season.  There's a mixture of new and old with returning shows and a new series.   

            The new Drew Barrymore produced and Nate Burleson hosted version of "The Hollywood Squares" game show premieres on Thursday, January 9 at 8/7c.  The show will move later to Wednesday nights at 10/9c starting January 29 as part of CBS' game night.  

         New medical mystery series, Watson, will be getting an AFC Championship Game boost premiere on Sunday, January 26, 2026 at 10pm ET/ 9ct/8mt/ 7pm, before it's regular time period of Sunday nights at 9pm starting February 16.  The series will air between Tracker  and The Equalizer , which finishes the night at a new time.

            NCIS: Sydney returns for season two on Friday, January 31 at 8pm and S.W.A.T moves to 10pm. 

            The rest of 'CBS Game Night' starts on  Wednesday, January 8 with The Price is Right at Night at a new time of 8pm, followed by season 2 premiere of Raid the Cage at 9pm. 

            

            The majority of CBS winter schedule is on task as normal.  Mondays continue the comedies of The Neighborhood and  Poppa's House and the "NCIS" series of NCIS and NCIS: Origins ; Monday Nights starting January 27.   FBI's three series are back on Tuesday, January 28.     

             The Thursday line up returns January 30, with Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage at 8pm, Ghosts at 8:30pm, Matlock at 9pm, and Elsbeth at 10pm. 

                Survivor returns for season 48 on Wednesday, February 26 at 8pm with a two hour-long episode, followed by 90 minutes through the rest of the season. The new 37th season of The Amazing Race premieres on Wednesday, March 5 at 9:30pm with 90-minute episodes.

CBS Announces Holiday Programming 2024

CBS  Thanksgiving  Christmas  New Year

            

         

           CBS has released holiday programming schedule for this year leading from Thanksgiving all the way to New Year.  

             There's also something of note this year,  CBS, for the first time since 1972, will not be airing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and for the first time ever since it premiered, will not be airing Frosty the Snowman.  This is pretty interesting as both specials have big anniversaries this year with Rudolph turning 60 and Frosty turning 55.  They will be moving to NBC, who's parent company owns the rights to these specials.  Freeform, the cable network, will still air these specials to, it's not a Peanuts moving to streaming situation here.  

          That also means, sadly- to me, that CBS will not be airing "Frosty Returns" and it also seems that  "The Story of Santa Claus" will not be airing meaning that CBS won't be airing it for the 2nd year in a row, it might be done at CBS.  Kind of a shame there.

CBS Sets 2024 Fall Premiere Dates

   Update:      7/26 CBS has changed "Tracker" and "The Equalizer" premiere dates to be during premiere week instead of originally planned  October 27.  This post has been updated to reflect that change and a new pr has been added under the older one.  No other dates and times have been changed.  

      CBS has set its fall premiere dates with an interesting mostly October start.  Certain shows such as:  "Survivor", "48 Hours", "60 Minutes"  will be premiering in September. "Matlock" gets a special September 22 premiere, before its normal Thursday night slot premiere in October.  "The Summit" also gets a Sunday night special premiere on September 29, before its October premiere.  

        A Premiere Week starts on October 14 , that's when shows like "NCIS" , the "FBI" series, "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage", "Ghosts" and more make their premieres.  New comedy, "Poppa's House" and returning  comedy , "The Neighborhood" premiere on October 21. New series, "NCIS: Origins" gets a 2 hour special premiere on October 14, before a time slot premiere on the 21st.  

        "Tracker" and "The Equalizer" get their  premieres on October 13 and 20, respectively.

CBS Releases 2024-25 Season Line Up

      After a struck season where things ended up being pushed to February, CBS and the other networks are hoping for a more normal time.  CBS has taken the move of announcing their entire 2024-25 schedule, not just fall.  

       "The Big Bang Theory" universe? continues with "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage" a  spinoff of "Young Sheldon"  will be taking the former's slot on Thursdays at 8PM ET.  "Ghosts" will continue in its 8:30pm ET slot.    

       "Tracker" which has proven to be a break out hit for the network, will be moving to an earlier slot on Sundays at 8pmet, following the high rated "60 Minutes" (and Football) .   "The Equalizer" moves down to 9pmet, and new series "Watson" at 10pm ET. 

        Tuesdays will still be "FBI" nights.  Wednesday will be reality and competition night. "Survivor" is on the line up in the fall and spring.  "The Amazing Race" returns in spring, "The Price is Right at Night", "Raid the Cage" and a new "Hollywood Squares" in winter.   A new series "The Summit" will follow the fall "Survivor" 

        "Matlock" which was pushed from the 2023-24 season, premieres in the fall leading with "Elsbeth" following on Thursday nights.   

      CBS recently uncanceled "S.W.A.T" will get a new season on Fridays in the fall, "Blue Bloods" which CBS decided to break that show's final season into to parts will finish up in the fall.  In spring,  "S.W.A.T" takes "Blue Bloods"  and "NCIS: Sydney" will lead the nights. 

        Mondays has "Poppa's House", another series that was pushed to the new season, following "The Neighborhood" rounding out CBS' 4 comedies.  "NCIS" continues followed by "NCIS: Origins"
