[opinion] Please no more debates

MEDIA TALK
TV Media
by Meghan F for mychiller media talk
Another 2 debate for Republicans is this week , one tonight on FOX NEWS Channel (9PMET) and another CNN Debate ,Thursday (8PMET ), haven't we gotten enough debates ? Do we need to me the candidates still , the same questions asked? Though  CNN and FOX debates are better than ABC and NBC's sad excuses of debates.   We have understood where each candidate  stands on each issue, the questions are now getting redundant. The networks should stop now , and candidates should say no that's what ended the debate with Newsmax, last month.
The cable networks , maybe want more ratings , but at the cost of just annoying people and making the message seem less useful. I do think the debates and the elections so far have weeded out the candidates out don't cut the voters eye. The debate system is messed-up , they pick people out of polls ,which annoy me , Buddy Romer is running for president but he wasn't in the debates because his poll numbers were low, his poll numbers were low because he wasn't in the debates were people could see him, he  not being in the debates didn't help him because the networks weeded him out for no reason.
But please can we stop with the debates until we now have the 2 candidates for the general made?

Post New Hampshire media review.

Media Choice 2012
C1. no weebles  ,Nothing here is listed by how important it is. CNN did use their "flick" technology but the little "weebles" disappeared.
     2. What do we do all night? Most of the news channels started a 6PMET  with coverage and for about 2 hours they waited for the polls to close. 8PMET , the declared Romney the winner and now they got bored, they carried the winner's  speech, the 2nd place ,Ron Paul speech, 3rd place Huntsman, 4th place Santorum and 5th place Gingrich. Perry didn't do one and they forget about Buddy Rohmer.  So by 10pmET they were just talking about what will happen in South Carolina and most of the channels went to bed at 1AMET.
  3. So no Olbermann  Current TV , didn't have Keith Olbermann again  but the 3 people from last time , Cenk Uygur, fmr. Govenor Jennifer Granholm , Fmr. Vice President and Co-founder of Current TV, Al Gore (he was in a screen this time) , this coverage was even slower and  last exited than last time and they did end at 11PMET ,again but this time they had a winner.
 4.  This Governor doesn't like MSNBC opinion hosts   [LInk and there's a video from Mediaite] reason not to have  Opinion hosts for a news event.
5.  This is just funny or sad ?  Wolf Blitzer asks Huntsman daughters are you available?
see you in South Carolina , Media

The Media what to watch for NH Primary Preview

Straight Forward  Choice 2012  Media
  By Skyler
New Hampshire voters , get to vote in the NH republican primaries tonight and of course the media is covering it like there's no tomorrow.
Here's our look at what the media preview is for coverage tonight.
 1. Already a winner   The media already is declaring Fmr. Governor Mitt Romney the winner of the primary , because they are using poll data. I do say it's wrong to delcare a winner and wonder who's second. Elections are not for the media to say who the winner is before votes are counted.
 2. CNN tech   Cnn , last week during the Iowa Caucus  launched some new tech like "weebles" and "flick" will they use this again tonight or because of all the jokes about it last week  they choose not too.
 3. Current TV  Keith Olbermann will be there tonight , last week they cut off before the votes final announcement was made , so let's hope they don't do that tonight. .
 4. Fox Business and the business channels  , FOX Business  we say  is doing a great job at covering the elections anchor Neil Cavuto will be anchoring tonight.  CNBC will not be covering tonight , Bloomberg will do one hour at 9pmET. We hope they would cover more , If you do coverage you should do more than 1 hour.

Review of the Media on the Iowa Caucus

Media  Choice2012
  By Joshuaonline Staff

CNN
CNN seems to pride themselves on their election coverage . This year , the network  moved it's election coverage from New York to it's Atlanta HQ.  It also added a bunch more graphics and gadgets to it's use age. Using heavy hitter anchors, Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer ,John King and their "Best Political team on TV" CNN made their election coverage interesting.
Goods:  CNN kept the coverage fair and kept going through out the night waiting for every vote to be counted.  Its setup was great overall.
Bads: CNN did use too many things, even though the GCI "Weebles" seem like a good idea it's just something for mockery. The "Flex " touch screens maybe a bit much and twitter is good but trying to use it in coverage may be too much.

Iowa Caucus Media Preview

Media
   By Skyler and Joshuaonline staff
Today is the Iowa Caucus , the Republicans are working on finding their next nominee for the presidential race. We take  a preview and ask questions about what will be seeing and covering on Joshuaonline.
        1. The Network Coverage. The Networks (NBC,ABC,CBS,and FOX) won't be covering the Caucasus in real time , leaving the winner announcement to local newscasts , though ABC NEWS will do some during 'Nightline' as well.
       2. Current TV versus MSNBC  . Current TV is a cable channel run by former Vice-President Al Gore , the channel has been evolving into news and opinion , calling themselves a progressive source, or more targeted to  liberal viewers. MSNBC primetime also has been doing the same. Tonight both channels will have Caucus coverage using liberal hosts we will want to know how the two channels covered it if any difference in that.
       3. FOX NEWS ,CNN,CNBC,FOX BIZ  They will be having full coverage tonight  of the Caucus with less  of a spin compared to MSNBC and Current.
        4. The media post spin Elections on TV always need to fill that extra time and the way done is using analysts   to spin what happened and why.  Plus in  a caucus which is different than a primary  , the polls that have been coming out have been playing with the media. That is what they use to take a measure and sometimes they are wrong, we will see if that happens, how they take it.

We will be doing more media looking during the Caucus tonight at 7PMET on Joshuaonline
