Halloween: The Loud House: Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind

Halloween

Lincoln and his friends are  going together for "tricks or treats" (we use Peanuts lingo around here)  as a unified costume theme from an old movie they've been watching called  "Planet Protection Patrol" which I'm sure will not come into play at all in this 44 minute long episode, nope. ---Fast forwards----well never mind.

The Loud sisters have another haunted house has part of their traditions, but it's not scary. Honestly, the real Mr. Coconuts is scarier than Luan wearing a mask of him.  It's so no scary, that a five-year-old girl , Darcy, wasn't scared by it, it's so not scary that it made Charlie Brown actually want to get rocks, it's not scary that Jack Skellington decided to quit being the king of Halloween of disgust. (Doing this long joke huh?)

Clyde, Zach, Rusty, Stella, and Liam show up all of them also dressed up their costumes. Oh yeah Lincoln is commander because he's the leader. [ Also minus 1pt for that you know what that was] The Planet Protection Patrol is supposed to be some parody of  I guess "Star Trek" maybe? I don't know, but also has a tree character because uhh I don't know. The Loud sisters lurk in the background as they think the group is acting too "geeky" or something. My question is where have they been? Have they've never seen these people before ever.  Also are Zach's parents right?  Is Halloween a conspiracy by big candy? Then again, it might be a conspiracy by both big candy , dentists, and Disney.  [That last one isn't even a joke ] (you learn things in this post)

Zach has brought weapons that apparently his parents built and actually work.  Is this how the Gurdles make their money? I'm sure these also will not come into play in the plot at all, nope. (don't do this twice) While Lynn's backhanded concern is nice, does she know that people dress in all sorts of costumes on Halloween? If anything any bullies coming by would really be trying anyone just to get the candy, that's why someone would bully on Halloween. (probably)

There's a trick or treat scene , then Chandler and Trent show up to be a fake scare out. (cat jump scare would be more purrfect)  Do they serve a purpose? Yes, they are there to get the plot. One of the devices Zach brought was  a communicator that can broadcast to space. Now, this thing will actually work, get that out here now. But (big but), Since thing works, why did it work here?  Has it done any communicating before? Why did Zach bring this, it's not even a weapon? He did promise his parents not to turn it on, but why that thing? Besides plot. Chandler decides to mess with the thing and sends a message to random aliens.  Then two girls see something strange hovering and run. Hmm....

The group goes to see Sheryl and Meryl for candy, but they aren't there, which is strange. They don't seem to mind too much, as they take some candy and leave. Liam also eats some lemon gelatin. [I'm mentioning this for later effect]

      [end of part One]

Flip's is open.  I don't know why anyone would go to Flip's for free candy, Flip for free don't match. (I don't why anyone goes there anyway) .  This scene mostly exists so Flip can get abducted.  I will say this episode is really good at setting up the mystery of what's going on and we don't see the figures that take Flip. The group shows up and notices that Flip isn't there it's strange. They grab his candy which is older  than American politicians by a few years.  I'm sure that candy will not come into play later.

Lincoln feels something is off, but he's not sure why.  There's more of that yellow stuff from before. They see Trent and that's to Clyde staying on character  he wants to help and wonders where Chandler is. Chandler has also disappeared.  Also random interrupting Mrs. Bernardo.  Also she's littering.  Randomly there for some reason.

They find Trent's boots but no Trent.  There's also the same yellow stuff that was found at Flips and the stuff Liam ate. Great, Liam is going to die. Zach does a quick test and the yellow stuff is alien.  Rita calls and says she needs Lincoln to come home, Lucy needs someone to play a "dead body". Lincoln warns them about aliens but they don't believe him. Then they get abducted.  And that's the Louds out of the way for awhile.

         [End of Part 2]

The group goes to the police, but *spins wheel* they don't believe them. Kind of sad we didn't get a Zach's parents part to come in they would have loved this.  [minus 0.1 pts]  The aliens return Flip, because they have taste. (And they needed someone for plot exposition)   [minus 0.1pts for underwear Flip]  The aliens are looking for one more human, thankfully it has to be a frequent character and thankfully they can use one who is voiced by the same person as Flip.

The group stops at Mr. Grouse's house to see the alien.  We get to see the alien design, the yellow stuff, is the clue... also Liam ate that...  it's an alright design. Nothing that really stands out with it. Also apparently, alien rays are weak towards metal trash cans. They try and take down an alien.  I like how the alien has the power to use anything broken off from it to still attack. Also, never do a celebrate it's premature and yeah.

Lincoln gives up his shield and helps Clyde, but then he gets zapped away.  There's only a brief bit of mourning as a fun part comes up.  Zach decides there's something that can be done. I do think this turnaround was a little too fast. I think there should have been a slightly longer mourn then Zach gets the idea and brings in the optimism. Only a small pick though.

Zach's parents made a teleportation device, randomly for this plot. Also, they are somewhat on par with being as smart as Lisa.  The alien spaceship looks like a CD player.  Also they transport to the space ship in the photo booth thing. The group starts fighting the aliens. Some one (sickos) might complain that this is just children beating up aliens  and wondering hmmm... as if that's not something done in any movie ever when it's been done many times in movies and shows. So yeah, have some fun.  [minus 0.1pts for the elevator having music, that's a dead joke let it go]

We see all the people who've been abducted and somehow everyone is able to breath and talk normally in this liquid.  Chandler still can be insulting while trapped as a prisoner. Also Lola can be mean while still trapped as prisoner. (I'd leave)  They are trying their best, Lola, you allowed yourself to get abducted so... yeah. With everyone free the ship is starting to crash because they were being used as batteries. What?

            [end of part three]

Lincoln is going to use the movie to trave a spaceship because... sure alright.  If that part bothers you, why aren't you bothered about the part where Liam ate some alien goo, why aren't you concerned?! The plan to land is now to use the Loud House front yard which has a giant spider web  to stop it, don't question it, there's aliens and a waffle phone.

The family apologizes for making fun of Lincoln and his friends earlier, I guess that was a thing.  Oh the aliens easily could have explained this earlier able to talk , they could have easily just explained things earlier.  Also, Chandler's call comes back to haunt him. (Idiot)  Also the reason was , again, human batteries. [It's true though] The aliens accept their fate, and want to get vaporized, but sadly, this show doesn't have that kind of rating so they get forgiven and Lisa finds a way to help the fly back home without human power but first they have to work at the haunted house. (Still choosing death)  Why does Darcy re-show up? Is she greedy?

I really loved some of the background music used in this. It has the electronic synth sound like it's Stranger Things  or an 80's kids adventure film where the it's real PG and kid gets to say one swear word, sadly not here in this episode. It fit the vibe of the special having some of that feeling.  It was really a fun aspect of the special, also fitting in an almost cinematic feel and the music was really a good touch to it.

I liked the Halloween evening setting it felt very eerie and daunting.  There was a good mixture of color as well to balance it out. I liked the character costume designs as well.  The pacing was generally good, though there are some things that I think going a little slower on would have been better, but nothing too bad. I think the first 3/4ths were the strongest.

Though, the alien bit was a little weak,  as they seemingly yes, were easily defeated, but there's only so much that could be done with a show with this rating. The alien motive was slightly done and seemingly could have been handled better by them talking in  the first place instead of snatching people.  The  haunted house part was unnecessary, overall, as it only seemed to exist to later have the aliens do a job I guess as TV-Y7 payback for kidnapping them. Otherwise, it wasn't much to that part of the plot.

I don't mind that the Loud family, beyond Lincoln, were sidelined. The friends put on a strong performance. I think Zach should have had a larger lead role than he got, because aliens are his thing. The show should be a little more confident in him to use him that way.  I am glad he did get a part. Mrs Bernardo's part really served nothing but to be funny, I guess. The opening establishment part was a little weak, but not bad. That's the only weaknesses I found to this episode.

Overall, the length of time was well used, and story beats were clean and well done. I liked how it didn't drag things out. The only conflict was the aliens and that kept it easy and not too over done with unnecessary stuff. I really liked how it kept the aliens unknown for a large chunk and set the atmosphere well. The episode doesn't go for the normal traditional Halloween horror of things like vampires, ghosts, monsters, or zombies; that's fine to a point. This show-yes this show- has done things with ghosts, zombies, possibly monsters, and fake vampires, so might as well not draw from that well. The idea of being abducted by other worldly beings can be horror too.  This also gives the episode a little stronger rerun ,not holiday value, and if The Simpsons can do Halloween with aliens than so can "The Loud House"

I think this was a really fun episode, the most fun in a long while.  I think there's  a lot of fun to this episode. I think a real problem for the episode is comparing it to the rest of the series, as it does go wacky and bring in real aliens. I think it slightly has worked better here than their past strange effort of trying to bring in non realistic things.  The execution works here since it's an interesting story and beats well versus it going weird or losing steam, or trying to force something supernatural in a plot that didn't need it.  Would the episode have been as fun as if the aliens weren't real?  Probably not.  I'm glad they aren't trying to force the show into doing episodes with lesson beats all the time now.

It was a fun episode. I give it (calculating) 8.4/10.   That's it for now, tune in next time when we find out that Zach and his family are aliens.

Halloween: A Really Haunted Loud House

Halloween

Back in 2021, I wrote about a live-action Christmas movie adaptation of  The Loud House series. I thought it was really enjoyable and pretty good.  At the end of that post I wrote,   " I think I'd like to see them make more Loud House live-action stuff."  Well they did, they made a live-action series under the name "The Really Loud House"  Which began in November 2022. Now, we're back here with a different holiday movie, for Halloween and from 2023, it's  A Really Haunted Loud House

This movie starts the day before Halloween with Lincoln and Clyde planning out their Halloween tricks or treats plans. [ I speak in the language of Peanuts]  This movie has lot of stuff thrown at the viewer to set up but it uses it ALL later, everything in first part is used later for the rest of the movie.  The family has made their house really spooky and ready for Halloween. Something from the animated series them multiplied by 100.

Big Spider/ Copyright Paramount

The details in the movie are things like Lisa has grown a giant pumpkin named Esmeralda, that she seemingly had  been talking to so much that she's grown (heh) attached to it.  It's also nice to see it more than just Lucy putting together the house celebration. They also do a nice twist on Lucy doing a scare, and even having Lynn trying to take the role is fitting because she's competitive.

Rita has been in control of candy. Lynn Sr. has been so bothered by Lynn Jr.'s scaring is that he's beginning to lose it. There's a Lana candy shooter, Luan made a giant Franken-Coconuts.   There's a dentist appointment scene, this also fits into the plot to move it along. Even Lynn Jr's scaring thing comes to play when she accidently scares the nurse and causes the nurse to inject the dentist with Novocain.  Lisa is able to finish the stuff and tells everyone they have tons of cavities.

That's when Lincoln gets to introduce us to Xander,. Who's Xander? (Who is Xander, I need to know!) Xander is a character they made up for this movie. (oh) He seems to be new but has gained popularity because *checks notes* plot reasons.  He seems to be one of those internet influencer kids, because that's  how you do fellow kids?
Join our coat gang, we wear coats even in summer/ copyright Paramount

Xander Cottington (no offence to the real  Xanders out there) is having a party. (I  should have read what he was going to write, oh well, Xander is cool name) Lincoln wants to go instead of tricks or treats.  Clyde thinks he's gone mad, and tries to change his mind with Ace Savvy  costumes. Then Lincoln tells him that he spoke to Xander.   Since Lincoln took the idea that they are too old to trick or treat seriously.  Then Xander shows up and invites Lincoln and Clyde.  Whatever they paid the kid playing Xander, it wasn't enough to make him say "Hashtag" in a sentence,  I don't think kids speak like that.

Christmas: A Loud House Christmas

Christmas

How does one take an animated TV series and make it live-action.  The idea of taking animation into live-action isn't new, but in many cases it's derided.  If you are a fan of animated movies and TV shows, the idea of turning them into live-action can be a little jarring.

The Loud House  is probably one of the few animated projects that could possibly work in live-action with some tender care. In 2020, there was an announcement that a live-action Christmas movie was going to be made, and then, some sort of virus came around and stopped stuff and there was no time for it to be made and Christmas movies tend to be more valuable around Christmas time. Then in 2021, they announced it's coming.

"A Loud House Christmas" premiered on Nickelodeon on November 26, 2021, and also on their streaming service Paramount Plus  ( Which doesn't have Becker on it) .

Now time for the boring part (what all that above was not exciting). If you don't know what "The Loud House" is, it's  an animated series from Nickelodeon about an 11-year-old boy named Lincoln Loud the gimmick is that he also has ten sisters. The early seasons focus on Lincoln and how he navigates life with his sisters. Later the series, It gives focus towards the family, then focus on giving the sisters different episodes of their own, and giving Lincoln time with his friends and expanding their world. It's been on for 5 seasons (as of this post) and has been renewed for 6th season (as of this post). Also in that fifth season they've moved the series up a year where the characters either are 1 year older than start or in different grades almost a year older.  All the sisters have  4 letter names and start with L as well. That's all the non Loud House people need to know to watch the movie. The people who know the show , know the show.

This is the story of a boy who cried a river of tears and ... oops wrong thing, Let's go!

This  isn't a long movie. that's one thing to know, it's about 64 minutes and that's fine for a TV movie.  The sets for the show are a good look, they took the care and attention to make the movie sets look like the cartoon, they really did in the work and I'm going to put this here: for set design 10/10.
good set work too / Copyright ViacomCBS

The movie starts with Christmas time being noted, but you will notice it's not snowing or there's no snow on the ground, which means that will come in the near the end because that's how this works. My Christmases were never filled with snow so it feels more realistic anyway. The movie does have a hallmark (not the channel) from the early days of the show where Lincoln talks to us, the audience, the movie starts off with him doing it and will have him do it few more times through out. (Good, since he's  explaining stuff, I don't have to, I'm going to take 5)  He ordered a special gift for his family, and the  opening of the movie establishes the other characters and how his family is around at Christmas.
Look at this frog!/ Copyright ViacomCBS

He mentions that around his house, Christmas has traditions, remember this for later.  You  get a few seconds with each sister but learn about their personalities pretty quickly. If this is your entry into the show, they are doing  a good job of making you figure out the characters' notes pretty well. For the fans, you will be pleased at how accurately they got the characters down.

Christmas: A Very Casagrande Christmas

Nickelodeon  Christmas  Casagrandes

"The Loud House" spinoff, "The Casagrnades" follows its parent show in having a Christmas 22 minute special during its 2nd season.  This series premiered in October of 2019 on Nickelodeon and entered its 2nd Season in October of 2020.  The episode we are looking at is season 2 episode 2,  "A Very Casagrande Christmas"

(You can read our Casagrande episode posts here

The episode starts with a nice Christmas scene, it really starts great for a special Christmas set. Ronnie Anne, her father, and brother are walking   Las Posadas, a  Christmas tradition that happens between December 16th and 24th. Ronnie Anne really hopes that the final night goes great, as the idea is to go around with the family and sing Christmas songs.  There's some other hints of things going on, like Carl wanting to rig a piñata to easily get candy.  Also, Bobby sings through this episode, and it's wonderfully fun to see.
Christmas fun/ Copyright Viacom CBS

The plot starts with Sid's family coming over after their Christmas dinner was ruined by their monkey and snake. (That's a sentence) Rosa allows them in, but  has Arturo leave to the store to get more ingredients. He's not going to have fun. Ronnie Anne misses her father Nakamura and his son, Cory,  come over after their sweater party was ruined and Rosa lets them join dinner. (Poor Arturo score card 2)
Hey there, we're here/ Copyright Viacom CBS

Ronnie Anne gets more frustrated by the situation,  and more neighbors show up. I do like how Arturo tries to keep optimistic as he keeps having to get more stuff at the store on a crazy night. More chaos ensues at the Casagrande apartment.    More family members can't go out , they have to fix more stuff.  Ronnie Anne and Bobby work together and try to fix the problems of the neighbors.   It's kind inventive and cool how they resolve that solution.  (I always like these characters working together)

Now now, this is a 22 minute episode, that means.... oh no Arturo is stuck under all the food he bought and trapped in the now locked store. First half over.  (kind of dark)
Give him a hand/ Copyright Viacom CBS

The first half sets up everything well, the environment is felt well, and the idea of the plot is set up well. It is relatable to feel like Ronnie Anne when you want to do a tradition, especially at Christmas and it doesn't go to plan. Bobby singing stuff was nice bit of levity and the comedy moments were fun without distracting the half so far.

The Loud House : Season 5: Episode 1: Schooled!

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Yes, I know , mostly moved these posts to our sister blog, but this episode is special enough to have on Joshuaonline.  (Send your complaints to us!)

The Loud House ,as of this writing, has four seasons under its belt , and was renewed for a sixth season just before the premiere of the fifth. The series will be in the small club of Nickeloden's animated series to go have a sixth season, after already being in the small club of being a Nicktoon to get a fifth series, and small one of lasting more than one or two seasons. (Done blathering here)
The fifth season was promoted as changing the show up a little, taking the characters and moving them around. The idea was that Lori, the eldest Loud child, would go from being a High School senior and go to college. Plot lines talking about this were mentioned in episodes in the third and fourth season.  Lincoln would go from fifth grade to sixth grade in middle school. (Some middle schools in the US start at 6th grade, some start at  7th, but his starts at 6th).  I guess put Lilly in preschool because some people put kids under 4 in preschool, apparently.
This episode is the first episode of season 5, it's called "Schooled!"  The Loud House has done 1/2  long or actually 22 minute long episodes, (we've covered at least 3 of those) this the first time they've done 44 minutes.(Give or take a couple minutes)  That's a lot of breathing room for an episode, let's see how they that.  (Wow that intro was long!)

This episode's plot is focused on three things from the description: Lincoln gets a class that is different than his friends, and ends up in Canada (what?) , Lori, starting her new time in college has dorm troubles,  and Lilly and potty training.

The episode starts with something we've not had in episodes in some long time, Lincoln talking to the audience. (I missed this. ) Lincoln has list of things to do.  He explains everything that is going on, like Lori is going to college, Lilly is potty trained now, and he's going to middle school.  Some background plots are happening as well, like Lynn being a hall monitor at school and Leni trying to figure out what to wear.  The goodbye to Lori isn't a big extended thing, it's more a quick goodbye, and she's off.

Beep Beep / Copyright Nickelodeon

Lincoln is optimistic, while is friends are worried about the first day.  There's even a musical number , which is unexpected. The song is called "We got this" it's a pretty good song, about how they'll fine at school and how they are a great team.  The other sing about their worries.  Of course, they won't be fine, that's how this works.  So they have this new teacher who seems cool, she's nice.  Lincoln finds out a clerical error and got the wrong class, because he forgot to turn in a form. The list from earlier coming into play.
We are here about the oh is that cake?//Copyright Nickelodeon

He finds out that he has a different class. Meanwhile, Lilly is dropped off at preschool. (Also Lynn Sr. is over 42 years old)  The show forgets the parents have day jobs though, as they just apparently, hang around the house.   Also, Also, Lori is a college and finds a floor for a dorm, that's too quiet and wants their quiet.  Lynn helps Lincoln escorting him to his new class, which is in a trailer.  The teacher is more an unpleasant fellow, and the classroom is really hot. (The heat being hot) The parents find out the Lilly can't go to school because she's not potty trained, even though we saw her being trained earlier.  (Keep a pin in that)  Yes this episode switches between the plots like this.   Lori is having an awful time, so is Lincoln.  The episode has a nice touch of having Lincoln and Lori saying the same thing and being worried.

I'm calling this part one, since that was the first eleven minutes. It does a good job of setting up the plot threads and what we are expecting. Also, forgot to mention Leni's mini plot will have a little play.  It's also nice to have some Lincoln focus since the show has seemed to have lost that.

The Loud House Season 1 : Study Muffin/ Homespun (Also some extra thoughts)

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Previously, the Loud House had an organ harvester and zombies, you can read that here. Now to the final season 1 episode , 26.

    Episode 26 A: Study Muffin

Poor Lincoln, he got an F  (Apparently he joined Denzel Crocker's class)  and he worries about turning around his grade so of course he first asks Lisa to help, but she's fully booked. She suggests that he get a community college student to help named Hugh. (He's British)  Meanwhile, Lori spots him  (and oh no! He's hot!) and forgets that Bobby exists. Oh look there's Lana , oh my gosh she likes him too! Hugh makes everyone love him. Even the animals. (What is this episode?)  Lincoln doesn't like this because he is trying to get his tutoring done.  Even Lincoln's dad likes Hugh because England. (what is this episode?)

Wait. That's illegal. Someone get Hugh an adult! /Copyright Viacom

Lincoln tells his family that they need to tone it down because he needs to study.  When he finally he gets some time with Hugh. Also Lincoln knows the exports of Bosnia and Herzegovina. (Suure why not?)  Hugh  finds out that Lincoln doesn't need his help something else must be making Lincoln fail.  If Hugh leaves the country I don't blame him. Anyway, poor Lincoln gets another F anyway.

The sisters found out Lincoln has  a sub named  Ms. DiMartino. (And Oh no! She's Hot!)  Also, Lori remembers Bobby existing.  The Flashback shows that yes Lincoln  has fallen for her. There's a good solution for Lincoln where he takes his test in a locker to not see Ms. DiMartino.

It really could have been an awful episode but , no it's not. When Lincoln really wants his sisters to back off they do, they help him figure out his problem. I do feel sorry for Hugh.  This episode is strange and weird but it made me laugh a lot, it's really an entertaining episode  9.5/10 (the extra .5 pts is because oh no! it's hot! )

The Loud House: Season 1: The Price of Admission/ One Flu over the Loud House

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Memories, oh memories, I remember the last episode we covered here .   Now to episode 25.

Episode 25A: The Price of Admission

I'm starting like this, this is one of plots where Character  can't watch something because the parents say they are too young for it and might get scared then character watches it anyway and gets scared and has to hide it.  This is not me saying this makes and episode bad because it uses a stock plot it's fine to use a stock plot.  I'm just acknowledging that this is that plot.

I do like the premise of the movie presented in this episode where a farmer goes crazy after a drought and starts harvesting human organs, that sounds like a fun movie. Lincoln and Clyde go to the theater and apparently there's two choices the "Barney" parody  and that harvesting human organs movie. (Bad theater)   Clyde is going to see the movie made for children 6 or less because , comedy?.  Lincoln decides to watch "The Harvester" as I said above we knew this already.

Lincoln proves his mother right because he is terrified now. How is the episode going to make this interesting so, we can have more fun even though it is a stock plot?  He  comes home and the parents are decorating for fall because it's fall apparently?   The fun in the episode come from Lincoln getting scared by random things because of the movie.  The father's descriptions of where things are in the basement ,attic. and garage this episode deserves a point for that.   Why is Mr.Grouse gardening at night? Nobody knows.  This episode also has some great moments to have laughs at so, there is that too.

There's not much I can say about what goes on in the episode,so I'm skipping a head, to the ending.  The parents decide that sure yeah Lincoln can go see the movie and they are going to see it with him.  Like I said, he tells his parents that he was scared and they don't get mad at him which, is a nice touch and glad they didn't.  This is a great episode, it's enjoyable  and has great comedy and funny moments. It's also good at showing fear and how simple things in a different context can be scary. It's a great episode one again, these later season 1 episodes really have some nice tight writing and this is another episode showing that. I give it 9/10.

The Loud House : Season 1: A Tattler's Tale/ Funny Business

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Previously, Lincoln has to claw back 4 girls (not really) and later, Lori wants Bobby back , for real context read that past post Here.

So, is the last time time for this season (1) where I will have to mush together remnants of episode pairs because I'd have previously done them before.

So First, off "A Tattler's Tale" is from Episode 23 it was paired with "One of the Boys" which I covered here

     Episode 23B: A Tattler's Tale

This episode is on Lola because she is the resident tattle teller (because sure, alright yes) why so, she can get what she wants. (Like a politician)   It stats with the Louds that are the parents or Lola in Lori's room which is somewhat massive if 10 people are able to fit in there like that. (You are trying to a logic in a cartoon again, that doesn't work *sets water on fire*)  We found that Lincoln killed disco. (Someone had to do it)  Alright, the Loud kids are sharing secrets from their father.  I like this part because it is nice to see the Loud kids hanging out, chatting, and giving out secrets in confidence to each other.  It's a nice touch.             Score board : 1 pt.

And Secrets from Mom too. (Coming to Lifetime Movies Network)  There is one sibling that can't be trusted with secrets and that would be Lola.  Lola isn't happy that the others won't spill secrets to her.  For you detailed people and if you watch the episode (and you should) watch Lola what Lola does when she gets mad in Lori's room and leaves, it's important, and kind of crafty. The later season 1 episodes seemed to be getting good at using little details to fit in the story well.

The next day, Lola wants Lincoln to be her butler.Lincoln decides no.  Lola decides yes because black mail. (see politician)   She continues to use her knowledge of the secrets to black mail the others.  I like how we the viewer are also left to wonder how she knew when wasn't in the room at the time. (ear to the door?)   Score board : 2pts   ---    The others aren't pleased with being blackmailed.  They think each other might be a rat but Lincoln figures out the detail that she hid a ██████████ in her  █████ (blanking it out if you want to go in fresh to the episode if you haven't seen it before)    Now, the plan is to find one of her secrets to use against her.  And she's good at secrets hiding.   Lincoln decides to get some dirt on her from the competition. (Like a politician, dang this is working well, and it's sad)

Funny enough, when he mentions her name to some other beauty contestants they scream in fear. (Good sign)  Anyway, that is except for one girl who gives him so much dirt he's gonna need a truck. (Why are you like this?)  What was the secret . we don't know.  It could be ██████████ or █████  but we don't know.   Anyway, they tell Lola if she tells their secrets she'll tell her secret. Later  she's seen leaving the parents' room  where they found out she's been grounded for a month for taking wrap for everything the others did. She wanted to be included with the others and felt that was the one way she could maybe do it.  They decide to let her in their secrets thing because she earned their trust.

I think is a really good episode, the premise they did could have really been done awfully and it could have been a mess but, they really hit the right marks with this episode. We get a side of Lola where she wants to be included in the things her siblings do and figures out she did it the wrong way.  I like the sibling bonding. I think it's a strong well done episode, the humor hits some good zones a well, and I think it needs a good 10/10.

The Loud House: Season 1: Dance, Dance, Resolution/ A Fair to Remember

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Previously on the Loud House:  Lincoln learns the true meaning of magic, what? Read the past episode here, now on to episode 22.

 Episode 22A:  Dance, Dance, Resolution

It starts at school and we see that Lincoln has other friends all with red hair (finally some good progress in media)  and they want ladies to ask them something, I don't know because we just kind of walked into this. (The same thing they ask every night, to take over the world!)  Ah! It's a Sadie Hawkins dance, for those don't know, that's where the ladies ask the guys to dance.

Divergent Fun fact Time      This post is diverting here for a second, fun fact time! (Loud noises)  Sadie Hawkins dance idea comes from the comic strip  "Li'l Abner" as Sadie Hawins is a character in said comic. She was 35 years and un married. ( This is the 1930's so, you do what you want with that) and her father was worried that she would never leave the house so he gets all the un married men to do a foot race ,the twist being the losers would have to marry Sadie. Anyway the other spinsters think this was a good idea and every year they want to do it, if they caught a bacheolor and dragged him (ouch) kicking and screaming across the finish line before sundown then they must wed.

Back to the Episode Time      Anyway, so the boys hope to be dragged screaming into marriage, no wait.  Re-checks notes.Oh, they hope to be asked by a girl for the dance, since it's the Sadie Hawkins dance meaning  the girls asks the boys. Fun fact about that, (stop we did this).   Lincoln is hiding from Ronnie Anne because he doesn't want her to ask him to the dance. (Now why you may ask, dear Jimmy)  He doesn't want to go because there's 2 for 1 thing at the arcade and he doesn't want to miss that. ( I understand, Lincoln).

Lincoln comes home and his sisters have nothing better to do but stand behind the door for how long were they there lurking and waiting?  (This is me being silly) They want to know if Ronnie Anne asked him to the dance and he tells them that she didn't ask him but, not telling them the truth.  Gee, I wonder what happens next.    Luan, Lynn, Lucy, and Luna all know 10-11 year old girls (yes?) to help Lincoln out and bring him to the dance. Which, is quite sweet seeing the sisters do this.  He tells them the truth about the arcade and really he should have told them in the first place, but hten we would have no plot and I wouldn't be writing about this episode right now and everything would not EXIST. (cool off and come back in the next paragraph, seesh)

Now, they make him go to the dance since they don't want their friends  to be sad and now Lincoln has to take out for 4 girls (dang Lincoln, has the ladies).  Lincoln also doesn't want Ronnie Anne to see him at the dance because he doesn't want to hurt her feelings.  This episode also heads to standard sitcom stock plot number 93 , the person trying to be with more than one person at the same time plot. Let's see how this goes.   Lincoln's  4 friends don't have dates well I'm sad now. ( Someone, take Zach out please)   Clyde is busy helping Lincoln do his thing.  There's a girl named Tabby  who is Luna's friend and yes, she does like music and talk British. (How did that happen?)  Giggles (I hope that's nickname or she should sue her parents) is Luan's friend from clown school who seems committed to the act.  Lucy's friend is Haiku who oh yeah , is like Lucy.  Polly who is Lynn's Roller Berby mate, and yeah.   I like how the episode flows with the Lincoln and the 4th girls working out pretty well.

Clyde almost dies from the heights he is in. Ronnie Anne, what are you doing here!  Yep, Ronnie Anne shows and now Lincoln has to figure this out.  So, he asks his friends to help out and dance with the other girls while he hides from Ronnie Anne.  I do like how they used that random detail of a raffle as a way to drive the plot and this is where Ronnie Anne finds out that Lincoln is at the dance.  But first, the other girls  find out that Lincoln with the others but they are happy because they like Lincoln's friends.

He finds out that Ronnie Anne wasn't going to ask him to the dance because she wanted to go to that arcade thing.

This episode uses the standard sitcom plots and gives them their own twists , the plot itself is tightly done and nothing is out of place or hanged on too long.  I think it's a strong episode and one of the best for the season 10/10.

The Loud House : Season 1: The Loudest Yard/ Raw Deal

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Previously, The Loud House episode we have that here, now to episode 21.

Episode 21A: The Loudest Yard

For some reason this episode has Rita wanting Lincoln to be more active in exercise, why?  Plot reasons?  When he doesn't really do anything , she makes him join a football team. Because , plot.   Anyway, he tries to get out of it and asks Lola to maim him but he gets scared and causes Lola to crash  her car. (This needs context) Lynn sees them "wrestling" and learns that Lincoln is joining a football team so she trains him.  So we do get some good Lincoln and Lynn interaction.  Since this blog has covered almost every Peanuts special, and has focus on the Peanuts we see that Peanuts reference and give it an automatic +1 pts for that. (So it's guaranteed to not get a 0/10).

Anyway, there's a couple of football  players from the other team who apparently too old, had a growth spurt in a strange way, or a steroid scandal they want to use the park where Lynn and Lincoln were practicing.  When Lynn stands up to their taunts it gives Lincoln an idea, to have her pretend to be him on the team.  She agrees.   Now , I being of sound mind and you being of sound mind would know how this already ends up before  even watching rest of the episode.  Especially, would this show have been allowed to have an episode where the characters do this and get away with it?  No way!

Is this bad for the episode?  Well, maybe. The thing is if you know that the plan is going to end up with people finding out about the switch, are you invested in the story it's showing for the rest of the episode?  In some cases, this works because the journey of seeing what happens is enjoyable in it's own self.  In my opinion, there's not much journey to enjoy with the way the went with the premise.    I do have question of how someone who is known and explicitly says in this very episode isn't very good at sports is some how doing great at football without anyone thinking  hmmmmmmmmmm. Or wondering why Lynn is never present at the football games.

I do like that the coach  liked how Lynn played and wants her on the team for the next year, since she hurt her ankle in this episode which leads to our reveal of the scheme.  If it stopped there, I'd give it a 6/10 +1/10 for the Peanuts thing but the ending goes with something that bugs me personally. Lincoln ends up playing football to make sure the team does well again, keeping this episode at 7/10  but, they decided to write it where oh he does this thing where he accidentally touchdowns in the wrong post so he loses. That could happen but what was the point for the story?  I give it 5/10 keeping the 1pt bonus so 6/10.

PS: I do like they are accurate with Lincoln scoring a safety, though.

The Loud House Season 1: Roughin' It / The Waiting Game

The Loud House   Nickelodeon

Previously, our past post here.  Now on to episode  20.

 Episode 20 A : Roughin' It

Lincoln is feeling a lot less manly in this episode and decides to feel more manly again he has to go camping. With Clyde.   At the start of the episode there's a montage  that will come into play into the episode later. I like how they did that.  Lincoln and Clyde attempt do EXTREME (not 90's EXTREME) camping to get that manly feeling back again.  (It's like a lovin' feeling , maybe)

The fun of the episode at first, is seeing how they do this camping.   I'm taking off .5 pts for the farting too much because I'm a tough judge.  Anyway, when things go wrong in the episode , the next day, when they are floated down the river because they camped in spot they weren't supposed to have camp.    That montage at the beginning comes into play when Lincoln uses different things he learned from his sisters to help him in the woods.

There's not much I can say about what goes on in the episode, except that it is a very enjoyable episode, I like the jokes and gags it has and the message  the Lincoln learns that being with his sisters is valuable and doesn't make him less "manly"  It's a really good episode I give it 9.5/10.

The Loud House Season 1: Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru/ Come Sale Away

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Previous episode talked about here.   Now on to Episode 19

Episode 19A : Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru

In this episode Lincoln, a boy who lives with 10 different girls with ten different personalities thinks that other girls have the same personalities.  It starts with Lincoln and Clyde starting a business for a class assignment and they start with trying to sell chocolate pie.  (Apparently, this show thinks everyone likes Chocolate pie  and attacks those not in the chocolate pie cult, we must stop this, it goes up far people ,far!)  There is no chocolate to be had so, instead of fruit they decide to use salt and vinegar.  (So they go from chocolate , skip almost any fruit a pie can be and use chip flavors? What?)

That fails because , duh?  They attempt a couple more businesses that luckily weren't too big to fail.  Lincoln gives Liam a little girl advice telling him that girls do like chocolate. (to be fair, who doesn't?)  Which starts the main plot of this episode.  Liam returns and says that the advice worked.  Lincoln ends up becoming the Girl Guru. (Roll credits)   Side Line: I do like that Lincoln uses his experiences with his sisters as a guide for his advice, even if we the audience can maybe figure this might not go well. It gives us a good insight into the sisters and also, how much Lincoln really does know about them.    Though, he really shouldn't have used anything Lynn does as advice?   Also, using Lisa as a basis only works with people who would already like science stuff.  Like I said, Lincoln this might not work out for you.

Time to play : "Let's watch this all collapse!" Since it fails the boys try to hide as they worry.  I will  add this episode does have some good comedy  to it  and really makes it not boring or awful. When they make it to the Loud House (Roll credits twice) the girls find out that it was dumb that Lincoln used his knowledge of the sisters to do a guru thing.  He learned the obvious.

Remember the salt and vinegar pies ? They come in to play to let peop(le who were mad at Lincoln for bad advice to throw them at Lincoln. (Not sure, that salt and vinegar in the face is a good idea but alright.)

Not a bad episode, it's enjoyable and funny. While, you can maybe see Lincoln's  plan back firing from the start it does a good job that shows he didn't mean any ill-intent and the people mad him have a reason to be  mad.  The ending is good as well as it works out for everyone in a creative way.      I give it 7.5/10.

The Loud House: Season 1: April Fools Rules/ Cereal Offender

The Loud House   Nickelodeon

There's really no way for me jazz up saying hey look here there's where you can see the previous episode here.   Anyway, we continue with season 1 and this time episode 18.

 Episode 18 A  : April Fools Rules

It's kind of how "The Simpsons" does a Halloween special every year, this show , at least for season 1-3, has a April Fools' Day themed episode. Forget the timeline of the show somehow having 3 April Fools' Day episodes happen because that's too much thing ,and join us on the journey of the one that started it all.

Luan Loud has been show in the episodes before this one to be the comedic sister and also a slight prankster. This episode shows she takes pranks and  knocks the level up to 11, screw it , 12, 15, over 9000!.     She also uses her pun powers at a heightened sense of ability no average human could do.

The others are preparing for April Fools' Day by bubble wrapping themselves, having a bunker, etc. Lincoln's plan is to stay in his room that whole day.  I love how the episode sets up the tension and fear really well. Ronnie exists and she texts Lincoln that she's coming over the next day, THAT DAY,  to bring a present. (Lincoln really should have been suspicious of that timing, darn sweet trusting Lincoln)   He tries to convince Luan to stop the prank thing  but she says no.

Plan B, Lincoln tries to stop Luan from doing the pranking thing so, they get her while she's a sleep and lock her in a cage. (Yes, of course)  Now the other Louds make bad crate puns. Apparently, Luan can rip through metal and got of the cage.( Help!)   Lincoln gets the idea to run through all the pranks Luan set up to make sure that Ronnie Anne won't be get pranked.    The pranks are interesting use of the medium , animation, because they are over the top (Would make Home Alone blush) and rather genius.

Leni follows Luan's signs that say the kitchen is outside where and was never seen again.   Clyde uses his Lori obsession powers to get take the pranks for Lincoln in her and Leni's room.  Ronnie Anne shows up and also I'm shocked , Luan invited Ronnie Anne over to make sure he would get pranked.  (Darn sweet, naive Lincoln)   She also a pie (not sure where she stored it  because we didn't see her walking up to the house with it but, alright)  but instead of pieing Lincoln she gives ot Luan instead.  They go out for milkshakes.  Meanwhile, rest of the family has to go find Leni and Luan does more one prank and pun.

A fun episode that uses the medium of this show well, also showing us the interesting abilities of Luan and honestly, her knowledge of how Lincoln would react is well done.  There's nothing in the pepisode that makes it feel too uncomfortable to uneasy to watch and it has some great pranks.  It's a 9/10 episode indeed.

The Loud House : Season 1: House Music/ A Novel Idea

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Previously episode 16 you can read that here. Now Here's episode 17.

  Episode 17a : House Music

Luna likes music as this show has shown through the series, now they've decided to give an episode with more a focus on here. (Woah, not focused on Lincoln? I'm scared)   There's a family talent event that evening and Louds  end up doing some music stuff.  Luna tells her family the best thing to do when doing music, is to have fun. (Pay attention to that)  The father, Lynn Sr, tells the family about his being kicked out of a band because of his obsession of cowbell so, the family let him join the fun too.

They practice but Luna seems to get a call from her favorite artist, Mick Swagger, is going to be the fair  looking for talent. (Yeah, sure that makes sense) Luna then changes her mind on having fun because she wants to impress Swagger. So, she gets mad and fires her dad from the band.  Then, the rest of the family kick her out of their band.  She goes on to try and work on her own.

She ends up at dinner trying to figure out a song and runs into an old man. (Gee, I wonder the old man is, it's not like he's Mick Swagger in disguise.) She tells him her problem and he pretends not being Swagger and reminds her about having fun. (She also eats his food)

So now, Luna runs back to her family and to have fun.  The family does let her back in and she reconciles  with Lynn Sr. and lets him back in the band.  (He really needs new pants) They have fun at the fair and Luna meets Mick Swagger for real.

This episode gives us some great Luna development  and apparently some background story for Lynn Sr. It has some funny moments as well. I think it's 9.7/10 (I was going to make it higher but, not enough cowbell)

The Loud House : Season 1: Attention Deficit / Out on a Limo

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Last Time:  Lincoln goes on a date, you can read that here.  Now, episode to Episode 16's segments.

   Episode 16a: Attention Deficit

Another hint of life in a large family is that there are more kids than parents and so this means the parents limited time is more limited when it comes to being with each kid individually.   The episode starts by showing an active/ normal time at the Loud House and Lincoln working on a science project.  When he asks each parent for some assistance  they have to tend to other kids first.  In contrast, Clyde, as a single child has both his parents more un-divided attention.  This gives Clyde the idea to let Lincoln come over to his house and have his Dads help Lincoln.

The Mcbride parents give Lincoln some attention which Lincoln seems to enjoy.   He doesn't get his project done that first day meaning he'll be back a second day.   Lynn notices that Lincoln looks a little different and gets it out of him that he spent the afternoon with the McBrides  who give him some attention. Lynn is impressed by this and decides to join in the fun , after Lincoln invites her. That goes well for her as she enjoys the attention too.    Again, because she wouldn't be used to it either because she's  in the same position as Lincoln with other people in the family needing attention as well.

Eventually, the other sisters want to join in and this causes cahos at the McBride home. The McBrides have to deal with other kids  now.  Lincoln was going to kick his sisters out of the house but he learns that they also want a little attention too and goes home. (Leaving them with those people aren't of any help though) Lincoln's parents do end up helping because they were always going to help.  The McBrides send all the other Louds back home. Rita and Lynn Sr. are saints.

This is wonderful episode. It doesn't put anyone in a negative light and uses the shows premise well to make simple episode pop.  It shows that all of the characters have the same thing in common with the big family, just wanting a little attention. It's an episode with heart , fun moments, and ajoy to watch. I give it 9/10.

The Loud House: Season 1: It's a Loud,Loud,Loud,Loud House/ Save the Date

The Loud House Nickelodeon

If I could turn back time, I'd go back the other previous Loud House post, if  I missed it, you can read that here.

This is going to be the last time ,for awhile, where I jerry-rig two episode segments together because of the other paired episode.  First I've done the episode paired with "It's a Loud Loud Loud Loud House" already, that's "For Bros about to Rock" , that you can read here.  Meanwhile jumping to episode 15B since, I've already done "Cover Girls" (my favorite TLH episode) I'm taking "Save the Date" and putting it on this post.  (Cover Girls can be read here)

Babbling over, time to babble, but about the episode.

   Episode 13B : "It's a Loud,Loud,Loud,Loud House"

Hey! How many louds do you need episode, calm down!    Lincoln finds a quarter in the couch which in a normal house would be fine, but in the Loud House no all the sisters want the quarter so they go insane and start fighting to find more quarters.  The parents exist and punish their kids for once. (yeah I went there)    So, now they have to clean the attic.  Lincoln finds a letter from a previous owner of the house named Sharon Demony. (hmm, someone owned that house?)

She said she hid money in the house and everyone around the house starts looking for the money. Eventually, they all get into fight again and get sent back to the attic.  Lincoln found another letter for a clue.  Lincoln gets hit in the face alot with a floor board when he walks on i this episode, anyway, they go crazy and start looking around the house.  Causing a mess.

Eventually, Lincoln stops everything and tells everyone that maybe they should share instead. They came together and find the money buried in the backyard. Leni is good at picking locks apparently. It's 500 dollars and they split it, anyway, the money comes from the father's work bonus.   He has to clean the house though.

This was another Loud House members fighting episode but to a purpose where they learn something at the end.   I like the title and plot being a reference to  "I't's a Mad Mad, Mad, Mad  World". That makes it really fitting.  The Jokes were fun and there wasn't any thing that dragged the episode down to me personally.  A fine episode with  some fun to be had  8.5/10. (Divide that by 11 for each Loud sibling)

The Loud House: Season 1: Toads and Tiaras / Two Boys and A Baby

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Thinking back, those past two episodes were pretty fun, take a read of our previous Loud House post here. Now on, to episode 14.

Episode 14 A: Toads and Tiaras

This episode dives a little more into the twin Loud girls, Lana and Lola. They each have their own personalities that contrast and have been shown in the previous episodes. If the title doesn't show you a reference to the former TLC network series "Toddlers and Tiaras" then I want to be happy that some didn't know that show existed.  What? It's about a pageant.

Lola is training for a pageant with Lincoln helping, thus showing how helpful a brother he is with his sisters.  Also, there is a price to the famous "Dairy Land" and if Lincoln gets to go along if Lola wins then bonus!    The first part also sets up Lana where you see her running through the mud  it's a nice touch to show her difference to Lola.

Lola trips over a hairspray can and now is injured. So, they can't go the pageant. Lincoln then figures out that Lola's twin sister looks like Lola. (Mind blown)  He convinces her to join the pageant for the season passes since they both like Dairyland. They also have to make sure Lola doesn't find out.

He helps teach her some of the pageant essentials.  Though,  Lana's ability to do plumbing would be a great talent skill for the pageant. After a montage, things get done.  Lincoln's encouragement is also sweet touch this episode. Since the rules say that Lola has to find out, Lola finds out and gets scary and trudges her way on crutches to stop Lincoln and Lana from ruining her "good name".  Like how the dad doesn't care about his injured daughter storming out the house.

When Lana tries to do the routine she still also acts like Lana like fixing the loose floor board  with a hammer she has there.  When Lana says she thinks maybe there's something wrong with her , Lincoln tells her that nothing wrong with her and that she should be herself.  Then he lets her do her own talent instead. Lola finds Lincoln and I think wants to kill him but Lana won. Lola doesn't mind now and lets them have the tickets.

This is a good don't turn people into something they aren't episode,it's well done with the characters and I really think it's genuine and earnest in it's presentation.  I think Lana is a great character so this episode really feels like it was written for her in mind than just any of the sisters.  I give it  10/10.  It's a high ranking episode.

The Loud House: Season 1: The Green House/ Chore and Peace

The Loud House Nickelodeon

If you missed out past post , click here.  So, once again, Since I've already covered episode 11A, "The Butterfly Effect", which also happens to be another favorite episode of mine, we have to skip ahead to episode 11B.  Meanwhile,  Kind of funny , that the post where  I wrote about "The Butterfly Effect" also was has the look at the episode "Along Came a Sister" ,which is paired with "Chore and Peace". So, to read those click here.  This post looks at episode 11B and 12B.

Episode 11B : The Green House

You know this isn't a good episode , if you like it that's fine, but I don't think it's a good episode.   I've written about two episodes of "Captain Planet" that told it's audience of 7-year-olds to stop having a bunch of children otherwise you hate the environment.  This episode feels like it was written by those episodes , sub consciously.

Lincoln's class is doing an energy reduction project  to win a save a polar bear challenge. (Yes that'll work?)  They want to get a polar named after the class (what would that name even be?)  I going to assume that everyone else in the class doesn't live in a house with 12 other people, I'm going to assume that. (reaching a limb here)  Meaning, that Loud family usage would be higher than everyone else by default.  The teacher and some of the other class members seem to not understand logic and that using more energy as a larger family means that he hates polar bears , somehow?

Now to put logic into this , Lincoln's family could be eco-friendly or whatever for their family size compared to the the other kids, but again these people are being idiots. (Yeah I called them idiots!)    The teacher doesn't act like a responsible authority at all chastising Lincoln and implying that he hates polar bears. The other students are of no help and chastise him because they want their stupid names on a polar bear or whatever.

Random question , why does Lola have a gas powered car? What?  Yes, there are somethings the Louds could do to reduce some energy use and that's show in the episode.   So he's  gets them to lower their usage.   Apparently, this show forgot Laptops are!   Battery power shouldn't mean that using more energy. (Prove me wrong!)   For part of this episode you can sympathize with Lincoln  but, then he makes his sisters give up more things so he and some stupid other kids can come over and use up energy for a game.   The sisters find out after he makes them wear sacks (clothes take energy now?)  and honestly , they are the only ones this entire episode that acting like stupid people.

Lincoln does make up for it, which gives this episode a little redemption , small, but there.  During reruns and things this is an episode I avoid , really, the only one I do. There's nothing here, if it's an environmental message it's bad and without logic (If I was doing this a those PSA episodes it would have failed the getting it's message out test)  Everyone but the sisters are awful at some point (maybe not Clyde, but he's of no help either) and really just plain awful in every way. There's nothing even funny to hold it well. Yeah I really hate this episode, it's 0.03/10.

The Loud House : Season 1: Overnight Success/ Hand-Me-Downer

The Loud House Nickelodeon

Sometimes the present is difficult, maybe you feel nostalgic for the past or you want to see things from before, well you can read about episode 8's pair of segments here.

A quick explainer first.   Since I did the Loud House out of order in past posts , using a ranomizer site, I already did a few episodes.  We've reached the point where I've done some of the episode pairs so, here's how this  post will be done :  This will be a combo of episode 9A: Overnight Success and episode 10A: Hand-Me-Downer.  For anyone wondering if 10B's episode will be done will 11a , that answer is no , for two reasons. The most important reason is I've already done 10B's episode as well.

Links to those will be posted in this post and you will see those, but now let's get going.

   Episode 9A: Overnight Success

For the first time, Lincoln gets to have a sleep over  as he explains that  because of previous sleep overs by the other sisters have not gone well.  Fun fact: This is the first episode to explicitly state that Lynn is Lynn Jr., though we still weren't sure which parent was Lynn Sr. yet. (AT least I wasn't. )  Lincoln tell us that he convinced his parents through a presentation, which we've seen him do in "In Tents Debate" as well.  Also, cats hate Lincoln, this episode.

This is more for history, otherwise has no barring on the plot, but gets a mention: This episode was when the Loud House revealed that Clyde's parents are a gay couple.   Oh, yeah Clyde apparently went to the bathroom to sniff the shampoo he thinks is Lori's ,because comedy?  The robot thing doesn't bother me so, it's evened out?  (What?)  Lincoln has the evening planned out because that always never fails.

Clyde decides to interact with the sisters  which, Lincoln is bugged about.  The Clyde and Lynn hacky-sack interaction is awesome.   As Clyde is engaged with more sisters Lincoln gets more annoyed. (It's like a math problem)  He decides to call the sleep over off and walk away in anger. (Don't look back in anger, I heard you say)

Lincoln decides to find  a new friend to sleep-over with   and this brings us the first time we see Liam, who runs out after getting made over by Lola.  Then, some kid I never saw after this episode so, I assume he's dead. This another kid that I never saw after this episode so he's also dead, and few more who are dead as well. (we get the point of this "joke). The legend himself, Zach, was introduced to the series and he has the best reaction.

Anyway, Lincoln realizes he misses  Clyde and goes to make up with him  and eventually finds that he never left because fainting works for the plot.  Lincoln finds out that Clyde likes hanging out with the sisters because he is an only child. Lincoln destroys his plans and decides to let Clyde do what he wants and it ends well.

An entertaining episode.  Clyde being with the sisters was fun and seeing their interactions with him.  I like they gave a little more insight into Clyde's family life including the fact he is an only child, giving him a contrast to Lincoln.  The only thing I didn't like was the thing with Clyde being creepy with shampoo sniffing, the robot thing doesn't bother me though.  I'm giving this episode 8/10.

Before we go to the next episode.  Episode 9B is  "Ties that Bind" you can read about that (along with another season 1 episode) here

Now to Hand-Me- Downer , after the Jump

The Loud House :Season 1: Linc or Swim/ Changing the Baby

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

I don't  know how to start this creatively so instead, here's where you can read the previous Loud House post  that's here   meanwhile,  here's today's Loud House look at episode 8.

Episode 8A : Linc or  Swim

Apparently, it's a hot summer day and The Louds keep getting kicked out of public pools  because why of course they have. Lincoln really just wanted to do a cannon ball.  So he decides to go to a store and get a family pool but he imagines that things would go not the way he wanted to so instead he buys a pool called  Paradise for One. (Coming soon to ABC)

Now he tries to put the pool together and different gags come of out his setting up this poll which makes this quite fun.  When he tries to do a cannon ball now, he finds Leni and Lori in the pool because the pool for one is apparently marketed badly.  The other sisters join in the fun as well and Lincoln still hasn't got to his swimming.

Guy whisperers in my ear : Has there been a conflict in this episode? I  say no, not really no.  We have like 3 minutes left.  Yes, I know.

Anyway, Lincoln snaps and kicks his family out of the pool. Also, plot convenient label says no canon balls.  So Lincoln now finds out that his alone fun isn't fun after all and  he starts to miss his sisters.  Then He finds out they have  a pool now.  They allow  Lincoln to join their pool  and o he canon balls and destroys the pool and good this his pool works now.

It's not episode where much goes on  but it's alright episode  I love the long gag play that Lincoln has while setting up the pool it has an old time cartoon feel to it.   I'll give the episode a 8/10 ... oh wait yeah, why is there like a multiple "fecal incident" gag going on?  7/10.
