FOX announces Summer Schedule

FOX Summer TV 



     FOX has released their summer schedule. They have added new reality series, a  new remake of "Fantasy Island"  A new baking competition series called "Crime Scene Kitchen".  New seasons of  "Hells' Kitchen: Young Guns" , Lego Masters", "Masterchef : Legends"  and "Beat Shazam".   There also will be a Monday animation block with the new season "Ducanville" and  new series "Housebroken".

ABC Summer Premiere Dates




    ABC has announced their summer programming premiere dates. As with networks in summer, it's a mixture of reality shows and game shows.   They have added three new series to the line up: "The Celebrity Dating Game" , "The Ultimate Surfer" ,  "When Nature Calls"

CW Announces Spring Programming

The CW  TV News Spring TV




   The CW, which had to shift it's programming around due to pandemic protcols, has announced the premiere dates of new dramas : Kung Fu and The Republic of Sarah;  and new seasons of  Dynasty, DC's Legends of Tomorrow,  and In the Dark.    Also time changes for  Batwoman and Charmed.

    

   A remake of that 1970's series "Kung Fu" will premiere  on Wednesday, April 7th  and new series "The Republic of Sarah" will premiere Monday, June 14th.  "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will come in on May 2nd with "Batwoman" moving to the later time of 9pmet.; Sundays.  Season 4  of "Dynasty" starts  May 7th at 9pmet, after "Charmed" which moves back to  Fridays. Season 3 of  "In the Dark" premieres on Wednesday, June 9th, at 9pmet.

The CW announces Premiere Dates

The CW  TVLookFall2020  Primetime 





         As mentioned before, The CW went a different route than the other networks (minus FOX) in delaying their fall programming (read standard) to winter as a cushion to have production of series during the Coronavirus Pandemic, today they have released their premiere dates for  winter.  

 New series, Walker , Superman &Lois, and Canadian series, Trickster.    Plus, they are brining back 11 series. 

    They start their line up on Friday, January 8 with new seasons of  Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Penn & Teller: Fool Us. 

        Season 3 of  Two Sentence Horror Stories premieres on Tuesday, January 12, along with Trickster , a series from the CBC.    

        On Sunday, January 17,  new season of  Batwoman premieres.  All American returns for season 3 on January 18. 

     Wednesday, January 20, has dual premieres with Riverdale (Season 5)  and Nancy Drew (season 2).  The remake of  Walker, Texas Ranger, here called Walker premieres on January 21 with the third season of  Legacies

      The other Sunday night program, Charmed, premieres its 3rd season on January 24.  Monday's other program , Black Lightning, joins on February 8th. 

         The new season of "The Flash" and the new series , " Superman and Lois" premieres on Tuesday, February 23.

CBS Announces Premiere Dates for 5 more scripted Shows

CBS TVLookFall2020  Primetime 


  Previously  CBS Announced 10 scripted series premiere dates for the new season, now they have announced 5 more series. These are returning series "Bull", FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, SEAL Team,  and The Unicorn.   There are still a few more series awaiting air dates.
      
      The Unicorn  return for a second season on November 12, joining the rest of the traditional CBS Thursday comedy block.  "Bull" returns for it's  fifth season on November 16,"FBI" and "FBI : Most Wanted"  and SEAL team premieres on November 25.  This will give CBS full line ups on Monday-Wednesdays, Thursdays with 2 hours of comedy, and 3 hours of Sunday.

CBS Announces Premiere Dates for 10 scripted series

    CBS has finally been able to release some premiere dates for scripted series. These are shows that started production and have enough episodes to run. November is a good month, so the network can go in holiday mode, and have hopefuly have more episodes in the new year.   The 10 scripted series are , NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles. NCIS: New Oreleans, S.W.A.T, , All Rise, Young Sheldon, The Neighborhood, Bob 💓 Abishola,  B Positvite, and Mom.

NBC Tweaks Fall Premiere line up

NBC TV Look Fall 2020  Primetime 




   NBC like ,CBS and ABC,announced a full fall line up in the hopes that filming episodes could begin. They now have adjusted their premieres to adjust to delayed filming, due to Covid-19.  The plan is to have some series come back in October and November.   Comedy series, "Superstore" is set for October 22nd.  Dramas in November starting with the new season of "This is US" on November 10th. The Chicago series, Law and Order SVU, and Blacklist the same week starting November 11th.

 New Amsterdam, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Manifest and the new Law & Order: SVU spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime, are hoping to start January 1st, 2021.  Other series planned have been held to  2021, with those dates even more unknown. 

    They, previously announced that a series from Canada, "Transplant" , "American Ninja Warrior", "Ellen's Games of Games".  "The Voice" is hoping to get back on October 19th.  "Weakest Link"  and "Connecting..." also take up spots.

ABC announces Unscripted Series premiere dates

   Much like CBS, ABC has had to find a way to get some fall programming, while slower filming happens due to the affects of the Covid-19 restrictions.   They have gone with their un scripted programming to fill in the gap.  They are hoping to get their scripted fall line up by November.

        "Dancing with the Stars" gets the first return starting on September 14th, with a new host ,Tyra Banks. 
 
        Thursday, September 24th, they launch an evening of game shows with "Family Feud" , "Press Your Luck", " and "Match Game"

       

       "The Bachelorette" which was moved from summer will make will be airing starting October 13th. 
   
       "Shark Tank" returns on October 16th.

       The new version  of "Supermarket Sweep" starts Sunday October 18th,surrounded by America's Funniest Home Videos,Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and  Card Sharks.

CBS announces their plans for September and October 2020

       With Covid-19 restrictions still affecting filming , CBS has found that they needed to do a plan b as programming for fall will be delayed , for some time.     They are tapping into programs they've held over, or from CBS All Access, expect other networks like NBC and ABC to figure out their crumbs as well.  Their hopes are for regular series to able to air starting in November.


      Their crime investigation news magazine, "48 Hours" will have a special Wednesday edition on September 9th at 10pm/9c and its new season starts on September 12th at 10pmet.


   "60 Minutes" returns on September 20th airing at its normal 7pmet, or after football.   Also from CBS News, there's  "The FBI Declassified" which premieres October 13th at  10/9c. 

      Series from CBS All Access make their way to CBS, to fill in gaps as well.  This includes, "Manhunt: Deadly Games", makes it's broadcast premiere on September 21st at 10/9c, airing Mondays.  the first season of "Star Trek : Discovery" airing  Thursdays at 10/9c  starting  September 24th. 

   "Love Island" has its 2nd season finale on September 29th.   The 22nd Season Finale of  "Big Brother" will air on October 28th.   "The Amazing Race" which was a holdover from airing last season, will start on on Wednesday, October 14th  at 9pmet ; with a it's new time slot of 8pmet, Starting October 28th.

    The series that ran on sister network, Pop TV, "One Day at Time" will re air it's 4th season on CBS starting  October 12th in an hour long slot from 9-10pmet.

TVLookfall2020: CW Sets Fall Premiere Dates

The CW  TV Look Fall 2020 




           The CW network, which was able to set their fall programming, around the Covid-19 slowdowns,  and are able to announce their fall premiere dates.

        The CW's fall season starts on September 18th, with the season premiere of "Masters of Illusion"  at 8 et,  and  a new series "World's Funniest Animals" with back to back episodes at 9et.

        On October 4th, Season 2 of Pandora premieres at 8pm.  The TV premiere of the DC universe series "Swamp Thing" gets an hour and half  premiere on October 6th at 8 et.   On October 7th,  "Devils" premieres and the second season of "Coroner"  after that. 

    In  theory (One of two  times we say this for this post) "Supernatural" hasn't  resumed production as of this writing but they are hoping to  have the final episodes made before the premiere set date of October 8th.   That same date,  "The Outpost"  premieres its 3rd season. 

   "Swamp  Thing" takes its regular slot on October 13th airing at 8pmet, followed by "Tell Me A Story" Season 2 at 9pmet.


            In theory,  "Supernatural" finale airs on November 19th with a special at 8pmet then the finale at 9pmet.

       ABC has released their fall line, much like CBS and NBC, they are going for a "we hope we can do something at some point int he fall" type schedule. ABC has some ready made things to work out for the season  like a new season of "The Bachelorette" which was supposed to air in May, but ABC moved it down.  Tuesday and Friday comedies are gone, and they are focusing their energy into one night of comedy.

             NBC has released their fall schedule. Like CBS they are taking a chance in thinking that maybe they can have something done by at least some point in fall. The dates the programs start are still up in the air.  One new series is being added , a new "Law and Order" series , "Law and Order: Organized Crime"  Thursday comedy is being cut to one hour to accommodate the new series.

    While Fox and the CW have taken ways to figure out a full fall schedule to figure in minimal disruption due to the virus, CBS has taken a slightly different approach.   CBS does figure in that the schedule may not launch on the traditional week of television launch. 

   'The Amazing Race"  is the only series that has full episodes, due it being delayed from it' s May airing.
 
              The schedule is relatively the same with changes to Sunday and Thursday to replace shows that were canceled in the 2019-2020 season.

The CW to release Fall programming in Winter ; has fall plans set up

      The CW has taken a move of waiting until winter 2021 to start their season , due the unknown conditions of lock downs and other things surrounding the virus. The Fall line up will be accustions and the conclusion  of the series  "Supernatural" (pending).  If these plans continue , the CW season will stretch into summer 2021.

Coming at some point for their mid season will be new series  "Republic of Doyle" and a remake of "Kung Fu"  also waiting on side are "Roswell, New Mexico", "In the Dark",  "DC's Legends of Tomorrow", "Supergirl", and "Dynasty".

FOX announces Fall 2020 line up

       Due to the virus, networks are making decisions on how to start their fall line ups  FOX has apparently found a way to continue.  Most of the programming FOX has put on the air has been either already made or can be done with fluidity.  (like animation)  They have also picked up a series from  Spectrum Cable , "L,A's Finest" . Two dramas were mid season series they were pushed to fill in the gaps instead.  That's NeXt and Filthy Rich.   "The Masked Singer" might be up for contention unless it can be taped over the summer.    Here is their  fall line up
